The Problem with Test Prep Centers

Too many people fall into the trap of paying $150+ an hour for a class that has you sit in a room with 20 other people taking practice tests.

Cost

The average test prep center charges about $120 an hour. In exchange, students sit in a room full of twenty people taking a practice test or looking over questions they got wrong.

At Perfect Score Tutors, we offer rates starting at $120 for 1-on-1 instruction and a discount for group instruction. Content is 100% tailored toward the student.

Tutors

Tutors from other test prep companies are usually high schoolers or adults who took the test and got a reasonable score. They "teach" by reading answer explanations in front of the students.

Instead, our tutors are heavily screened. Most tutors received perfect scores on their tests and have extensive teaching experience.

Middle-Man Fees

Assuming 20 students pay $120 an hour, total revenue for 1 class would be $2400. However, tutors themselves are only paid around minimum wage, which is less than 1% of the revenue.

On the contrary, Perfect Score Tutors ensures that tutors get their fair share. This is how we are able to keep tutoring personalized.

“[Test prep company] paid me $15 an hour. I just came in and read the answers to the problems they got wrong in front of around twenty people.”
